Microgaming Names New Bingo MD
Microgaming, powerhouse developer in the casino software industry, has just announced the appointment of a new Managing Director for its Bingo division. The company said in a press release that its latest employee would bolster its existing leadership team, as well as progressing their “important and growing” Bingo product vertical.
Online Bingo's Growing Popularity
Brick-and-mortar game halls have declined somewhat over recent years, but online Bingo has become many players' favourite game. No longer the preserve of middle-aged people, it has a strong following among the 25 – 34 years demographic. With this in mind it makes sense that Microgaming, always looking for innovative ways to continue developing, is interested in growing their Bingo offering.
Meet the Bingo Managing Director
The man in question is Leon Thomas, a veteran with over ten years of experience in the online gaming business. Previously he worked for Instant Win Gaming, the specialist lottery and Bingo brand, as Chief Commercial Officer.
Thomas has also served as Managing Director for Tombola, expanding its success in the United Kingdom and introducing it to the Italian and Spanish markets. In addition, he has held various senior positions at Mecca Digital, The Rank Group, Caesars and NYX Gaming. All of this will no doubt stand him in good stead in his Microgaming role.
Thomas' New Responsibilities
Thomas will be based at Microgaming's head office, in the Isle of Man. He is tasked with spearheading the company's entire Bingo vertical, and working to maximise the product's value and success.
His responsibilities include developing the company's long-term business strategy and capitalising on the commercial opportunities that Microgaming's unique market position and wide distribution base afford them.
In short, he will need to use his years of expertise to leverage Microgaming's history and quality into expanding the Bingo vertical. The hope is that more products will be offered, to an ever-increasing list of customers.
A Promising Appointment
Microgaming and Thomas both seem pleased with his new position. The director said he was delighted to be appointed by one of the “foremost entertainment providers” in the gaming industry, and that the brand is well positioned to grow its Bingo business substantially.
Chief Executive Officer John Coleman, speaking on behalf of Microgaming, said his employer was pleased to welcome the immensely experienced Thomas to their family. With his knowledge of B2B and B2C industries, Coleman said, he should be able to play a leading role in maximising the Bingo vertical's growth.
